What Should I Do if a Client Requests a Scheduled Interpreter?

Find out how to handle scheduled interpreter requests, check language availability, and respond based on approval status.

When a client requests a scheduled interpreter, first confirm the request details and check whether the language is already available on demand.

Information to gather

  • Language requested
  • Requested date and time
  • OPI or VRI service type

Troubleshooting steps

  1. In InterpretManager, navigate to:
    • Configuration > Company > Customize > Language Policies
  2. Review available languages.
  3. Search for the requested language.

If the language is available on demand

  • Inform the client that they can access an interpreter immediately through on-demand services.

If the language is not on the on-demand list

  • Notify Taylor and Meg and include the requested language name.

If Meg and Taylor approve

  1. Click the language list:
    • OPI for audio calls
    • VRI for video calls
  2. Select Add/Edit Language.
  3. Search for the requested language.
  4. Select the language and move it into the list.
  5. Click Save Changes.

If Meg and Taylor do not approve

  • Reply to the client acknowledging receipt.
  • Include Taylor and Meg on the acknowledgment.
  • Taylor or Meg will follow up on the request.
