What Should I Do if a Client Requests a Scheduled Interpreter?
Find out how to handle scheduled interpreter requests, check language availability, and respond based on approval status.
When a client requests a scheduled interpreter, first confirm the request details and check whether the language is already available on demand.
Information to gather
- Language requested
- Requested date and time
- OPI or VRI service type
Troubleshooting steps
- In InterpretManager, navigate to:
- Configuration > Company > Customize > Language Policies
- Review available languages.
- Search for the requested language.
If the language is available on demand
- Inform the client that they can access an interpreter immediately through on-demand services.
If the language is not on the on-demand list
- Notify Taylor and Meg and include the requested language name.
If Meg and Taylor approve
- Click the language list:
- OPI for audio calls
- VRI for video calls
- Select Add/Edit Language.
- Search for the requested language.
- Select the language and move it into the list.
- Click Save Changes.
If Meg and Taylor do not approve
- Reply to the client acknowledging receipt.
- Include Taylor and Meg on the acknowledgment.
- Taylor or Meg will follow up on the request.
